The Attention Triggers Module

Attention Triggers refer to mental processes that are continuously operating within our brains to decide what information is important to us. As you conduct your daily life, your brain is continually making decisions and filtering information at the unconscious level. Each person is uniquely programmed to respond to different types of information.

In order to communicate effectively, you must align what you say with the attention triggers of the person to whom you are speaking. If you fail to do this, you will find that most of what you say never gets through to the listener.

In this module we describe four attention trigger elements that are particularly relevant to the sales process. You will learn:

  • The behaviours often associated with the four attention trigger elements that are most important in sales situations.
  • How to interpret the things people say and associate these with their attention trigger patterns.
  • How to respond to prospects in a way that activates their attention triggers.
